Ganga Jamuna is situated off Central Avenue Road. This is one of the major business areas of Nagpur. Previously women used to solicit customers on the main road. However, today there is a wide road that separates the Red Light Area into two distinct sections.

About 2000-3000 women, who include minor girls of aged 11-17 years old, reside in this place. This is the place where sexual slavery thrives. The women staying here are from different states of India, like Orissa, Chathisghar, and Gwalior in M.P, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh etc. There are women from Nepal too living in this place and practicing this trade

At first glance an ordinary passerby would think it’s simply a residential area. Until the person sees young girls and women standing on the road. They are well dressed, attractive and very young. If you dare stop, they would approach men.

‘Yet their outward, brash behaviour is the result of pressure by people who control their lives. Contrary to general understanding, Commercial Sex workers are most often duped and sold into the profession. Their lives are not their own. Nothing is their own – except the misery, shame and their children’.
